Long story short: I'm really pleased with them and they look lovely, with every outfit.
In detail: in my opinion there are not that many barefoot ballerina-like shoes that go really well with especially elegant dresses. Honestly, I was displeased with each pair I bought from “bigger”, more known brands. At this moment Vera Sands are definitely my favourite ballerina-ish shoes and they are really versatile: they look great both with elegant and casual outfits.
I actually waited with the review until I wore them outside few times, even in the rain once and had no issues at all.
I had to actually break them in. They were a bit too snug in the beginning, but there was the flyer in the shoebox with care tips from the maker and it stated that those shoes need some time to mould to your feet. I was wearing them at home few hours each day for about a week with medium thick socks and it did the trick. I actually was afraid they are too small for me when I tried them on first, especially about the toebox not being high enough... Luckily, those shoes really do mould to the feet quite quick and well.
The outer sole has good grip, I do not slide on any floors I’m walking on.
I do love the colour very, very much – I’d say it’s a little darker than on the photos on Jancarik’s page (I do not mind the difference, it isn’t big and the hue is lovely). It is as universal as beige for me, but not as dull.
Would love them even more if there was a little more cushioning inside – maybe the maker could consider making it an option to choose when ordering, like the width options you have?
Last but not least: every e-mail I’ve sent to Jancarik was met with a timely answer and my every doubt was addressed (hope I was not being a nuisance…). All in all buying those shoes was pleasant experience through and through and I would definitely recommend Vera shoes and consider buying from Jancarik in the future.
By the way, if Zasilkovna is not operating in your region/country, the shoes will be sent straight to your address via local delivery company, so have no worries.
Overall: like I already stated, I’m pleased with my Vera Sands, they do look very nice and mould to the feet well, you just have to give them some time to do that if they do not fit you from the start. I really recommend wearing them with medium thick socks when breaking them in, that worked really nice for me and it was definitely worth it 😊
